Atlanta Baptist College came to fruition as a result of a growing conviction that spiritually and geographically a real need existed for fundamental Bible education in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The congregation of the Liberty Baptist Tabernacle in Stockbridge, Georgia has been used of the Lord to meet this need.

BBTI offers a nine-month training program, starting in August and continuing until the following May. It is our desire that you would benefit from the same missionary training that we have found to be effective in our ministries. It would save you many heartaches and make your missionary career much more fruitful and enjoyable. I know. I had the training, and I don’t know how I could have done with out it. I worked in Papua New Guinea for twenty years, and I needed every minute of my missionary linguistic training.
Often throughout his first twenty-nine years in the ministry of evangelism, God spoke to Ron Comfort’s heart about the need for a school that would be comparable to a technical school, singly focused on training young people for full-time Christian service. Whereas there were many good Christian colleges, there were only a few that had a single focus of producing young people exclusively for the ministry. In 1986, while Evangelist Comfort was ministering in Germany, God assured him that he would be in some way involved in a Christian college ministry. In October, 1987, while preaching an evangelistic campaign in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, he surrendered to start Ambassador Baptist College.
